National Awareness Week
Each year DMRF coordinates a National Dystonia Awareness Week. Generally this event takes place late spring every year. Generally during this period a proclamation is signed off that declares dystonia as a generally unknown movement disorder and steps taken to over come this problem. Also attempts are made to have the media provide interview with people suffering from this movement disorder. Dystonia pamphlets are distributed describing the various forms of dystonia. Awareness is also achieved during our annual Walk and Wheel on Parliament Hill, which took place on May 29, 2004.
